MGM Grand Lion Habitat

Housed behind glass walls that reach up to 35 feet, visitors can watch as the lions feed, play, groom themselves (and of course, sleep) while learning facts about lions that are displayed on placards outside the exhibit (did you know that the lion with the largest mane always eats first?).

While the lions are on display at the MGM, they live in accommodations on an 8.5 acre ranch owned by Keith Evans located 12 miles from the MGM Grand. The lions are bathed, dried and groomed before being transported to the MGM Grand each day.

The lions are transported to the MGM habitat by a custom 16-foot box van that holds stainless steel rolling transport cages. Before the lions return home, they are fed a specially formulated meal by hand after being loaded back into their rolling cages. Visitor have the opportunity to walk through the glass enclosure to get a closer look at these wonderful cats.  As you exit the area you are brought into a gift shop that sells anything from stuffed animals to books about these lions.
