The Highland Falls Golf Club is located in Sun City Summerlin, but it is far from just an old folks' course. It has some of the best conditions and nice holes in Southern Nevada. The course measures 6,512 yards from the back and provides plenty of challenge no matter which of the four sets of tees you choose to play. The front nine features rolling hills which get steeper on the back nine. The four par 5s all play less than 545 yards, but with the elevation changes, strategic fairway bunkering and well-bunkered greens, they all present fair challenges. There is plenty of sand -- nearly every hole has at least one imposing bunker -- and water comes into play on many of the holes. You can expect to play a round at Highland Falls in slightly less than four hours. The scorecard has a pace of play marking on it and a full round should take three hours, 58 minutes. This links-style course has many homes lining its fairways.
Highland Falls boasts a peak elevation of 3,053 feet, which makes it the mo st elevated course in Southern Nevada and provides a wonderful view. The course incorporates water-saving techniques such as the use of limited non-turf area. This provides contrasting color and reduces overall water consumption and maintenance. Hybrid buffalo grass covers certain slopes to control erosion and reduce water use and maintenance needs, while providing a playable turf area. Highland Falls is designed to accommodate golfers of all skill levels, from the novice to the professional.
