The 2009 World Series of Poker® is scheduled to start May 27th with their first event of the year, the Rio Casino Employees No Limit Hold'em.

Play begins with the Casino employees events and runs throughout the summer with multiple events, ending with the big daddy, World Championship No Limit Texas Hold'em.

There are over 57 events in all, ranging from Omaha, H.O.R.S.E, Pot-Limit Hold'em, and No Limit Hold'em. All events for the 2009 WSOP® will be held at the Rio Hotel & Casino.

The World Championship No Limit Texas Hold'em event begins on July 3rd and runs until July 15th, when it will break until November. Like last year, the final nine will play for the grand prize November 7-10.

Peter Eastgate, the youngest winner in tournament history, took home the Main Event bracelet and over 9 million dollars in 2008.

If you'll be in Vegas anytime in the summer, stop by the Rio and catch some incredible poker matches. You may see poker stars Daniel Negreanu, Doyle Brunson, Phil Helmuth, or more, hanging around town.
